Machine & Gadget Made Pork Satay

The big bits

600g of 100% NZPork loin (cut into thumb size chunks)

The little bits

6 cloves peeled garlic

1 big knob of ginger

2 tbsp of tamarind

2 tbsp fish sauce

2 tsp dried shrimp

1 big pinch of powdered chilli

Grill & BBQ


Serves 6

  1. To make marinade throw little bits into food processor and blitz til smooth
  2. Toss big bits in marinade
  3. Refrigerate overnight
  4. Thread onto bamboo skewered that have soaked for ten minutes in warm water
  5. Grill over hot coals, turning til done - about 5 minutes. Give or take
  6. Serve with rice, green salad and peanut sauce and pickled cucumber salad

Get the table sorted before you cook. Otherwise your genius creation will sit there, going cold.

Washing the damn dishes.

It sucks. There's no getting around it.

But leaving it to others will undo all the good work you've done.

So harden up, and put those rubber gloves on baby. Yes, the pink ones.
